Rose in oil

reference photo
After visiting couple of galleries just want to try something in traditional method. I selected this still life rose thinking that this will be easy and simple ,but it’s not like as I thought ...

12"X16"
I introduced some shadows and lightings, I am not sure whether I have placed everything properly or not...
Each and every picture I post is my knowledge so far, I desire to learn some more perfection and my way of strokes in future.

This is a beautiful painting , the best part is you have painted it with your imagination and it looks just too good

You really did this well Anu, the rose and the leaves by themselves self are looking very pretty. You could have deepened the shadow beneath the rose to show that it is "sitting" on the surface. The light is falling on the rose and the leaves from the right, so the shadow could be in the left of the leaf and not to its right..just my thoughts.:-)

Wow! It's beautiful! I think your painting is more beautiful and interesting than the photograph (which is also very nice). Very good.
